"CACTUS CULTURE: A VISUAL OASIS" is an art exhibition that celebrates the desert environment of Palm Springs, California. The exhibition features abstract interpretations of cacti and other desert plants, such as spiky ocotillos and branching chollas, which are presented as a fantastical garden of sculptures. The artist, Dustin Gimbel, working in ceramics, uses color, form, and references to the Mid-century Modern movement to create a connection between the sculptures with the unique natural and built environment of Palm Springs as well as its cultural diversity. The exhibition is set in two locations in Palm Springs, Trina Turk and The backyard PS. The exhibition will be up from the February 1 to March 26.
